Minimum data, clear boundaries.
After Accident Value is designed so identity and claim-contact details stay in the browser while payment and one-VIN access are verified separately.
What the service processes
Stripe processes checkout and card information. After Accident Value does not receive or store full card numbers. The service stores a payment-session identifier, payment status, amount, access expiration, a random authorization fingerprint, and a protected fingerprint of the first VIN assigned to the purchase.
Claim information
Names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, claim numbers, adjuster details, damage and repair narratives, and generated document text remain in the active browser session and are not sent to the calculation endpoint or written to the After Accident Value database. Closing the browser session clears unsaved working data.
Valuation inputs
The VIN, year, mileage, market-value inputs, comparable price and mileage fields, repair amount, damage-factor selections, evidence-availability flags, and loss date are sent transiently to the server to verify the paid VIN and calculate the result. Except for the protected VIN fingerprint, these inputs are not written to the service database.
External lookups and short caches
When requested, the VIN is sent to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for vehicle decoding. A live comparable search sends the VIN, market ZIP code, and selected radius to the configured market-listing provider. Those providers apply their own privacy practices. To reduce repeated provider calls, decoded specifications may be held in worker memory for up to 24 hours under a protected VIN key, and listing results may be held for up to 15 minutes under a protected key. These caches do not contain claimant contact details, claim numbers, adjuster details, or repair narratives.
Security and retention
Paid access uses a random HTTP-only, Secure browser cookie transmitted over HTTPS. Access is limited to one VIN and expires. Minimal payment authorization records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, refunds, chargebacks, and legal compliance.
No sale of claim data
After Accident Value does not sell claimant or vehicle-input data. The service does not use claim inputs for advertising profiles.
